Farmers Markets - Columbus, OH - Cutler Real Estate

Having access to fresh, healthy food is more important than ever. As we're confined to our homes for the majority of our weeks, it's vital that we receive the nutrition we need to preserve our wellbeing as our physical activity decreases. With warm weather right around the corner, our local farmers markets are reopening to provide our families, friends, and neighbors with the freshest local produce available. Thankfully, the following markets around Columbus are now offering delivery and no-contact pickup options to keep everyone safe.

As of right now, the Granville Farmers Market is one of the few farmers markets that will continue to be an in-person, foot-trafficked market. Held at the Granville High School parking lot, the Granville Farmers Market insists that all visitors practice social distancing by sending only one member from each household and remaining 6 feet apart from other shoppers. Please don't bring pets, point to each item that you wish to purchase, and don't attend if you're showing any symptoms of a fever or other illness. Keep in mind that you can also arrange for alternative pickups by contacting each vendor directly.

Another of the only farmers markets still allowing in-person shopping, the Canal Market District Friday Farmers Market will continue with new social distancing protocols in place. You're encouraged to wear face masks, only send one person from each family, remain 6 feet away from other shoppers, and refrain from attending if you're feeling unwell. Staff will be limiting the number of people inside the market at any given time to prevent overcrowding and customers will move through the market on a dedicated path to streamline the process. Similar to the Granville Farmers Market, you can connect with these local vendors directly if you want to arrange other pickup options.

Bubble Tea - Columbus, OH - Cutler Real Estate

The popularity of Asian food in the Columbus area now extends to a beverage. Bubble tea, created in Taiwan during the 1980s, usually contains milk and sugar along with a wide range of "toppings." While these add-ins include red beans, pudding and jelly, the most common one is tapioca pearls that give bubble tea its distinctive, Instagram-ready look.

Whether you're a bubble tea newbie or long-time fan, you'll find your perfect drink at these wonderful tea and juice shops (and one sushi joint!) around Columbus.

When the local ponds freeze over, Ohio locals don their skates, grab their mittens and hit the ice for a winter adventure. Ice skating is a fan favorite around the holidays and during these colder months, and luckily, the Columbus area has its share of pristine ice rinks just waiting to be carved. For some inside fun and to escape a bit of the cold, head to a Chiller Ice Rinks location in Easton, Lewis Center, Dublin or downtown.

The lighter side to a winter storm is the fun activities that come with it—snowshoeing, snowball fights, skiing, oh my! In the Columbus area, we are graced with a large number of hills that, when coated with just the right amount of snow, are perfect for slipping, sliding and racing. A few of our favorite spots include Scioto Park, Antrim Park, Griggs Reservoir, Sharon Woods and Blacklick Metro Park.

Explore North Market

Since 1876, the centrally located North Market has served Columbus residents—which makes it the most seasoned market in the area. The Ohio Statehouse is our state capitol building and is truly a magnificent sight to behold! Unlike many of the other states' capitol buildings, the Ohio Statehouse didn't take inspiration from the United States Capitol because it was actually designed and built before the glorious building in D.C. was ever erected. Instead, it was built in the Greek Revival Style, with many features drawing inspiration from the Tholos of Delphi and the Parthenon of Athens. You can tour our historic capitol building for free—Monday through Friday every hour on the hour, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
